Philosophy
We are Carbon XS Cycles or our full name Carbon Xtra Small Cycles. We have been building custom carbon bikes for kids for over ten years. We use the highest quality carbon frames produced in our own dedicated tooling to our specifications. We test and review every design and component with team riders using video analysis and test tracks. This is essential as the weight limit of 75 lbs (35kg) excludes adults from stepping onto a MAD6.
The design philosophy of the bikes has always been, engineer the best kids mountain bike in the world. We do not make larger or adult bikes.

Weight reduction is a corner stone of the design.
An adult bike represents only one-sixth of the weight of its rider. If we scaled up an average 27lb (12.2kg) kids bike to adult size the result would be an adult bike weighing around 108lb (49kg)... Yes that heavy !
We wouldn’t ride it. So why do it to kids? Without compromising performance or safety, we have produced the lightest series of bikes with a component level that is envied by most riders. Even the smallest details, such as employing titanium bolts for shock mounts and incorporating lightweight discs, contribute to these weight savings.
Technology
Performance through tuning and design. The frame and all custom components are 3D CAD designed produced using the latest manufacturing technologies. Wheels are custom drilled and laced with 16 spokes – a unique feature of all MAD 6 bikes with the carbon wheel set. We do the work in design and tuning and go to lengths like video analysis and computer stress analysis on components. All of this goes on behind the scenes but is not wasted as it goes to improving kids riding progression and skills.
Build Process
All bikes are custom assembled in our Australian workshop. Our assembly process typically kicks off with a comprehensive conversation centred around the rider’s and purchases’ preferences and the intended riding environment.

Purchase price includes express courier delivery to most parts of the world. Our bikes are carefully packaged to ensure their safe journey during shipping.
Service and Support
We sell individual custom parts to customers or local bike technicians. All group-sets, brakes and cockpit components are industry standards and can be serviced by your local good quality bike shop. Following your purchase, we are happy to offer guidance and support whenever necessary throughout the lifespan of your bike.
